They are headquarted in Ohio, USA but have a European Sales office located in Almelo, The Netherlands. As Business Development Manager, you will become a key part of the team in Europe by identifying growth opportunities, building relationships, and driving revenue within their core markets.

What will you do:

Identifying New Business Opportunities:

  • Researching and analyzing market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
  • Identifying new markets, potential clients, and partnerships that can expand the company’s reach or enhance its offerings.
  • Educate clients on product features, benefits to enhance the value clients receive from offerings.
  • Identifying opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and account expansion to achieve or exceed annual quota.

Lead Generation and Sales:

  • Generating new leads through various channels like networking, cold calling, attending industry events, and using digital marketing strategies.
  • Engaging with prospects to understand their business needs and positioning the company’s products or services as solutions.
  • Following up on sales opportunities and closing deals.
  • Building long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and identifying upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
  • Ensuring clients’ needs are met and addressing any issues that arise in a proactive manner.

Proposal Development:

  • Working with internal teams to create tailored proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
  • Helping shape the commercial terms and conditions in line with company goals and client expectations.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Continuously monitoring industry trends, customer feedback, and market demands to inform product or service innovation.
  • Analyzing competitors and identifying areas where the company can gain a competitive advantage.

Sales Strategy and Forecasting:

  • Developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Monitoring sales progress, managing pipelines, and reporting on forecasts.

Collaboration with Internal Teams:

  • Work together with the account managers to approach prospects and leads.
  • Working closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure the company’s offerings align with market demands.
  • Providing feedback and insights from clients and prospects to help shape product or service offerings.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience in business development, account management, sales, or a related role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to speak fluent English, other languages such as German or Polish, or other European languages are an advantage.
  • Customer-focused mindset and dedication to client satisfaction.
  • Problem-solving, business analysis and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and account management tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Industry knowledge and understanding of market trends.
  • Pro-active and self-starter.
