Introduction ‎

Within ETC we have the Onefuture program to support our ramp-up. This ramp-up cannot be ‎successful without proper IT adaptability. IT has to deliver IT projects on time, within budget ‎and with agreed scope.‎ To improve our capability to deliver as requested we raise the position of an IT project portfolio ‎manager. Responsible to establish an IT project portfolio that will deliver the maximum value ‎to ETC’s business strategy while improving IT project governance processes.‎ The IT Project Portfolio Manager will be part of the IT Leadership Team and will report into the ‎IT Director.‎

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for IT’s Project Portfolio: Able to work together with internal stakeholders on the Business Value and ‎Complexity&Risk for projects, act as a peer for senior business management to ensure that ‎the IT project portfolio delivers the maximum value to ETC’s business strategy. Aligns and ‎prepares decision making for project portfolio governance meetings (PPC) and responsible ‎for follow up. ‎
  • Improve project delivery: Support, stimulate and coach IT project managers / IT Leads in change management ‎activities and understands the most important challenges for each project, responsible to ‎improve the reliability of project delivery. Facilitate retrospectives of projects, makes sure ‎improvement actions are implemented as well as the celebration of success at the end of ‎projects. Maintain a proper set of project KPIs and report on these.‎
  • Implement and improve project (governance / management) processes: Responsible that the project governance process and project methodology is understood, ‎implemented and continuously being improved, including usage of tools. Fosters one way of ‎working throughout the IT project portfolio. Improvements will lead towards a quarterly ‎heartbeat. ‎
  • Initiates and manages escalations: When applicable initiates / manages (strategic complex) ‎projects to guarantee delivery or get involved in case of escalations. ‎
  • Team manager for the project managers: All (4) projectmanagers will directly report to you. ‎Responsible for HR and performance management.‎

Your profile

  • Master or Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, ‎Information Technology or a related field.‎
  • IPMA A/B, Portfolio Management courses
  • 8+ years of experience in IT and in managing complex IT Projects and/or programs ‎out of which 5+ years relevant experience in Project portfolio management or ‎program management.‎
  • ‎5+ years of experience with (IT) project methodologies such as Prince2, IPMA, ‎PMBOK and/or SAFe framework. ‎
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully managing IT project portfolio’s and/or IT ‎programs.‎
  • Experienced member of IT steering Committees.‎

  • Organiser and planner. A keen planner, strategist and implementer of projects.‎
  • Result oriented. Achieve results in an environment that is in transition to become ‎organized globally while delivering IT services locally per site. Demonstrated ‎success in a dynamic environment of business transformation and change.‎
  • Relationship building. Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building ‎skills.‎
  • Experienced with manufacturing environment.‎
  • Coaching. Support IT Project managers / IT Leads in organizing and the delivery of ‎their projects.‎
  • Proactive and aimed at continuous improvement. Experience with quality ‎improvement & operational excellence. ‎
  • Agile mindset. Close alignment with stakeholders, incremental approach.‎
  • Keen to work in an international environment and willing to travel.‎
  • Lead by example. ‎
  • Excellent in cost/budget control
  • Either a German or Dutch native speaker, with fluent verbal and written English communication.
